Provide poison call center services to both the general public and health care facilities. Works closely with other team members including physicians, nurses, epidemiologist, and educators within the very specialized field of toxicology

Position Compensation Range: $27.84 - $44.54 Hourly


Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
Experience: 3 years relevant experience
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. National Certification in Poison Information within 3 years of hire date. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required


This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.

Employees that are working 100% remotely will not be subject to weekly prevalence testing; however, if the employee works on UVA Grounds (including the Medical Center) even intermittently, then they are required to be tested for COVID-19 once per week on an indefinite basis and follow masking mandates
